Description

Today, controversy and confusion surrounding sexual issues are keeping people from engaging in confident dialogue with our culture and a deeper walk with Christ.

Reclaiming God's Design for Intimacy
The church has a long history of silence about sex, and when we have addressed it we have often drawn rigid categories and assigned shame. No more! It's time to examine questions and perceptions about sex. What does the Bible say about gender identity, cohabitation, marriage, abuse, and pornography? Let's discuss the truth, find freedom, and share the love and grace of Jesus on this important subject.

As ministry partners, Pure Life Alliance, Grace Chapel, River West, The Collective and Village Church are bringing Dr. Juli Slattery of Authentic Intimacy to the Pacific Northwest. Using her latest book, Rethinking Sexuality, Juli encourages believers to reclaim the conversation around sexuality. In order to do this, she walks us through the process of acknowledging the crisis, understanding the narrative of biblical sexuality, and integrating the gospel within our own sexual narratives at home and at church. Juli presents a compelling vision for biblical sexuality, combining humor with biblical wisdom to convey God’s narrative of sexuality.

Two different events will be offered: a 2 hour leader workshop late Saturday afternoon (3-5pm) and a 2 1/2 hour general session—open to all—that begins at 6:30 pm. We encourage all leaders attending the leader workshop to invite their congregations to the 2 1/2 hour general session later that evening.

RETHINKING SEXUALITY GENERAL SESSION — 6:30 pm

This seminar is geared towards men and women—leaders, parents, grandparents, young adults—every Christian age 16+ who would like to be grounded in a biblical understanding of sexuality. Registration required, $20. (Couple and group rate available as well)
